Investigative Reporting

During the summer and fall of 2016, I was part of a team of investigative journalists who tested water samples from 50 locations throughout Prince George's and Montgomery counties. The samples included both well and city water, as well as various surface water sources (rivers, streams, lakes).

An overview about the investigation can be found here ("Your water at home: The Sentinel's investigation"). My bylined articles for this series are "County water contains THMs, hardness, but remains safe," wherein I go into further detail on the Prince George's County test results, and "Bowie water system strong despite challenges," which is a comparison of a small municipal water system with a large, multi-jurisdictional one.

This series was awarded second place in the Investigative Reporting category, Division E, in the Maryland-Delaware-Washington, D.C. Press Association 2016 Editorial Awards.
